Read this if you try to use BlueWhaleMail on Sony Ericsson M600i (or similar) phone and it reports that there was a problem with your APN or a problem making a connection to the internet.
In order to be able to use the application, you need to check that your internet settings are set correctly. To do this you need:
1. APN set up for your Network Operator to allow GPRS access
2. Point BlueWhaleMail application to use the right APN
Adding APN settings
Your phone might already have GPRS connectivity setup, but if it doesn't you can easily add it.
1. From the main menu go to "Settings" -> "Account Settings"
2. Select "Internet Accounts"
3. On this screen you have the list of all data account settings on your phone. Look for your mobile network operator provider. The name usually will consists from the name of your carrier name + GPRS and/or INTERNET, such as "T-Mobile Internet" "Orange GPRS Internet", "O2 PAYG GPRS Internet"
If you don't have an account, you can create one by selecting "Options"->"New Account" -> "Data"
4. On the next screen, enter new data settings. If you don't know what information you should enter, please see the forum: What settings do I need for my network operator?
Setting BlueWhaleMail application to use correct APN settings
Please note that this step might need to be done each time the application is reinstalled. Internet account settings tend to be reset to a default value, which in many cases is incorrect.
1. Go back to main screen "Settings" -> "Security Settings"
2. Select "Midlet Accounts" -> "BlueWhaleMail"
3. Under "Internet Account" change the account to desire data account. If you followed the steps in the first section - it would be the account you created there.
Please note that this step might need to be done each time the application is reinstalled. Internet account settings tend to be reset to a default value, which in many cases is incorrect.
