Hi,
I have installed BlueWhaleMail on my phone and was happy with it. However, the first time I turned my phone off and on again, the programme tried to load, but jammed at the title screen (the one that says "do not use when driving"). Once it does that, I can't do anything on the phone and have to take the battery out to reset it.

As it is set to autostart, it means the phone is useless.

Please help me solve this, as BlueWhaleMail is crashing my phone!

Thanks
A

Forgot to mention in my previous post, my phone is the Sony Ericsson C905 and the version of BlueWhaleMail is 01.05.07.

I am running it with GMail, which was working fine, until I had to restart my phone, when BlueWhaleMail does not load properly.

Dear Sherls,

We have found that there is a problem with the storage mechanism on SonyEricsson phones (technical speak: their J2ME RecordStore).

If an application using this RecordStore is closed "ungracefully" i.e. if you press the red hang-up button or turn off the phone instead of choosing "Exit" from the application itself, then because the application doesn't get a chance to close things down properly, sometimes the RecordStore gets corrupted and it's very difficult for a program to start up again.

We added some code to BlueWhaleMail to try to recover from this situation, but we still find that this recovery code takes a looong time to run (sometimes up to a half an hour).

We're trying to work around this bug with the SonyEricsson RecordStore. Sorry if our work-around isn't working quickly enough for you.

I had the same problem with my sony ericsson c902. To fix this i too the battery out - took the memory card out (because the application was installed on there) then started the phone. I then went into the menu and deleted the bluewhale application, then I put the memory card back in. The phone works again but obviously i don't want to use the mail application on it anymore
