Hi,
Yes, every time you turn on the phone you also need to restart BlueWhaleMail.
It's like starting the email program on your computer each time you turn your computer on.
Please see the links we've got for Nokia shortcuts and SonyEricsson shortcuts on making it easier to start BlueWhaleMail
We might be able to make it start automatically for some phones in the future, but that will take us some time.
Cheers, Rafal & Michael

Hi there,
BlueWhaleMail should not affect your ability to receive and make phone calls. Having said that, some phones do not have the ability to perform a data connection - such as required by a web browser, or indeed BlueWhaleMail - at the same time as a voice connection. One such phone we have seen here at the office is the Sony-Ericsson M600i.

Hi there,
Unfortunately I do not have one of these devices so I cannot tell you that we have definitively seen it work.
We tested this download and the application on a similar phone, the Motorola RAZR v3i. On the RAZR v3i, the download worked and BlueWhaleMail could run, but it was a very tight fit -- the RAZR (and I suspect the SLVR) doesn't have enough memory to allow programs such as BlueWhaleMail to run well.
Note that although your phone may be reporting a large amount of space available, it may be the case that your phone's manufacturer has set aside only a small portion of that space for Java applications like BlueWhaleMail. (The rest of the space might be reserved for photos, movies, sounds, etc.) Some people have discussed this size limitation in this page, as well as discussing that sometimes for some phones, downloading a larger file over the wireless network may not work, while using a cable to transfer the software from your PC to the phone does work.
One thing you can try is our 'Download Option 3' (visible on the left-hand-side of this forum). Once the BlueWhaleMail software is on your computer it can be copied manually to your phone. This might resolve the issue if it was caused by an error during the wireless download.
We'll get a hold of a Motorola L7 SLVR as soon as possible and once we do we will post more information on this forum.

Yes. You should be able to access your mail over SSL. Please see this page for details of how to configure the server and ports information:
Configure BlueWhaleMail to use your email account.

Hi there,
This feature is only partly implemented at this point. It is possible to enter the settings for one email account and after retrieving the emails, change to a different one. The message list will contain the emails from both accounts.

Hi there,
In short, we have two primary goals in mind for the BlueWhaleMail service. One is to offer free access to your email. The other is to remain device and operating-system agnostic. In practice this means we aim to provide a similar experience on whatever phone our users prefer. Today this means Symbian and Java but we hope to expand this list as time passes and frankly, as our users demand on these forums.
It would be difficult to comment specifically on other email clients. There are a number of them and they vary greatly in what they offer and how. I guess one thing to add is that BlueWhaleMail is very much under active development and that we really concentrate on the 'Mail' part.
Cheers, Rafal
